A reel is 1080×1920, not 1080p wide. Quality is measured on the short side, so a portrait video is never upscaled, cropped or mislabelled.

Sound is never assumed
Some Facebook videos publish no separate audio track, and stitching one on anyway produces a silent file. Where that happens the complete file is offered instead of a ladder that would lie.
Public only, and honest about it
Friends-only posts, private groups and age-gated videos need a signed-in account. This tool doesn't have one, and says which wall it hit rather than failing vaguely.

Facebook doesn't publish a full ladder for every video — reels and older uploads often ship as a single finished file. Offering invented rungs would mean handing you the same file under four different labels.
Yes, in full portrait resolution. A reel link and a watch link for the same video are treated as the same video.
