Highlights are the stories worth keeping — they never expire. Saving them is paused while Instagram has the contents behind a login; here's how they work and what still works today.
Instagram stopped serving the contents of a highlight to anyone who isn't signed in, and we won't fetch them with an account we'd have to keep replacing. Listing an account's highlights already works; saving what's inside them does not, so the tool stays off until it does.

Why highlights are the easy case
No 24-hour clock
Unlike stories, highlights are permanent. There's no countdown to beat, so you can come back to them.
Covers too
The cover image is saved separately from the items, at the resolution the owner uploaded.
Whole highlight at once
Select every item in a highlight and take it as a single archive, in the order it plays.
Anonymous either way
Highlight views aren't shown to the owner after the first 24 hours, and nothing here is fetched with an account.
